Death Perspectives - online offering

Meet co-executive director Felicia R. Wright for this open dialogue on death and dying

“So much about how we view death has been shaped by our fears of the unknown, suffering loss, and our overall discomfort with the subject. Suppose we grabbed not just life but death by the horns too. Perhaps we could end the stigma most people face when confronted with end of life decisions. Our lives AND our deaths are but a ball of clay to be shaped. If we dare to imagine our ending is just as epic as our beginning, we reclaim our power and impart it on those we leave behind. Join me for a candid discussion about how I shifted my perspective on death, the steps I took to help ease my loved ones into their transitions, and how we can honor the sick and dying.” Felicia

Felicia is a mother, daughter, sister, widow, and end of life doula. At the age of 41, after her husband died of renal cancer she found purpose through her loss. She underwent training as an end of life companion with the International End of Life Doula Association. Felicia founded the company Da H.A.S.Effect in memory of her late husband Hasan Amin Spicer. Da H.A.S.Effect creates a space for dialogue to those interested in tackling tough conversations surrounding death, and offers end of life companion services. Additional services provided include legacy projects, vigil planning, and grief workshops. Felicia currently works as the co-executive director of Wissahickon Wellness Center, a non- profit organization in Philadelphia. In her spare time she enjoys blogging about the mysteries of life, reading, biking and hiking.
